The Perfect Platter
Boards that look effortless, taste layered and rescue any gathering.

About this workshop
A creative, visual session on building grazing boards and sharing platters: balance, scale, colour, quick pickles, spreads and the small touches that make a board feel considered.
A great board is not just a lot of things on a piece of wood. It is edited. In this workshop we look at how to choose a small number of excellent components, vary their shape and height, and arrange them so that every bite offers a combination.
You will make quick pickles, a smoked mackerel pâté, whipped cultured butter for radishes, and a chutney-style relish; and each person builds a full board with antipasti, British cheeses, dips and breads. We cover board sizes, quantities per guest, how to pre-prep, how to keep things fresh, and how to style without using a fistful of garnish.
The session ends with a group photograph of the boards, if you like, and then everyone eats.
